What We Do

The Clermont County Public Defender’s Office represents people not able to afford a lawyer in criminal and other cases for which they could go to jail. These cases include felonies, misdemeanors, and juvenile cases. In order to be eligible for representation by a public defender, the person must be indigent – that is, without assets or income sufficient to afford a lawyer as determined by current guidelines. To show indigency, an applicant must fill out a Financial Disclosure Form, which can be found here.
